The Grand Mufti of Yorubaland, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, has called on Muslim women to make positive and purposeful use of social media in promoting the values and teachings of Islam.
He made this appeal on Saturday, April 19, 2026, in Offa, Kwara State, during a one-day seminar organized by the Ta’awun Women Wing. The event was attended by members of FOMWAN and other Muslim organizations.
Delivering a lecture titled “Muslim Women and Social Media in the Digital Age,” the Sheikh emphasized the importance of using digital platforms responsibly to spread Islamic knowledge, moral values, and awareness. He warned that, if not properly managed, social media could mislead and negatively influence users.
According to him, social media was created to bring the world closer together, turning it into a global village. He therefore urged Muslim women to leverage these platforms wisely for da’wah and personal development, rather than for activities that could lead others astray.
