Igboho and Taani Olohun’s Actions: An Affront to Nigeria’s Police and Courts

Adeboje Lukman

If the alleged actions of Sunday Igboho and Taani Olohun in resisting or obstructing the Nigeria Police in the lawful discharge of their duties are allowed to go unpunished, it would raise serious questions about respect for the rule of law in Nigeria.

No individual, regardless of status or popularity, should be above the law. The police must be allowed to carry out their constitutional responsibilities, while any disagreement with their actions should be addressed through lawful and judicial channels.

Allowing anyone to openly challenge law-enforcement authorities without consequences could weaken public confidence in Nigeria’s justice system and encourage others to disregard the law.
