Breaking News: Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons Regain Freedom

The Nigeria Police Force has successfully rescued the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons, following a coordinated security operation in Oyo State.

The victims, identified as Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted by armed gunmen on June 3, 2026, while she was on her way to drop the children at school in Ibadan. The incident occurred in the Challenge area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area and sparked widespread concern across Oyo State and beyond.

According to security sources, police operatives launched an intensive manhunt immediately after the abduction was reported. The operation led to the safe rescue of the victims and a confrontation with the kidnappers, during which two suspected members of the gang were neutralized.

Prior to the rescue, the Oyo State Police Command had confirmed that tactical teams had been deployed and investigations were ongoing. The victim’s vehicle was also recovered as part of the operation
